Missy - Less than a week to go

With one week to go life has become last minute details and spreadsheet checks. I went to the podiatrist and got some steroids for my feet that helped but did not fix the plantar fasciitis. I have an appointment on Thursday for shots in the feet. I have recommendation for surgery when we return

Having shots in the feet is deeply not fun. On the other hand I’m determined to do what I can before we go to succeed. It’s gonna be great.

There are lots of little and big details to see to: printing out bus tickets (because no app?), getting Barcelona flights, a tattoo appointment and luggage transfer for mom. At the same time Kiernan is finishing up his end of middle school a week early and he’s trying to jam in everything he can. I’m trying to prep things at work so thing are easy in the lab while I’m gone and we are packing as much yard work and errandry as possible before bailing on David and Meg. Meg has strep.

I’m trying to think past the flight. I’m collecting music and books on my phone and hoping that Ativan still works. I’m looking at pictures and reading books and watching YouTube videos of Camino things.

I’ve washed all my clothes and filled the first aid kit with fresh pills and bandages. I’ve got my weather app set to Santiago and am dutifully working on my Duolingo. The weather looks great and I can semi confidently ask for a cheese sandwich and find a bathroom.

So far so good

I am at heart a planner and am enjoying all of this despite my anxieties. Feel free to send a prayer for me.
